Liverpool boss Arne Slot has hit back at criticism of former striker Michael Owen, who has claimed the club’s one Premier League title win was a disappointment, and said he should have known better when he was a player there.

Previously, Michael Owen, the team’s former striker, said that if Liverpool finished the season with only one championship, he would feel quite bitter. Virgil van Dijk, the team captain, immediately came out to defend this matter. Recently, Arne Slot, the Liverpool manager, has hit back at Owen, who used to be a “Reds” player, should know how difficult it was to win a championship in the past, and he understands Van Dijk’s feelings as well.

“Let me understand, Virgil, you’re a little bit frustrated, เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง aren’t you? Because it sounds like winning the Premier League isn’t enough, right?”

“Owen, didn’t he play for Liverpool? You know Liverpool have only won the league once in the last 35 years.”

“That’s your answer, if you win the league with this club, nothing else matters. “If we win the league 10 years in a row, then maybe people will say, ‘Is it only the Premier League?’ If [Manchester] City win the Premier League, then I understand why people say that, but this season is not a good season for City, but in this situation, it’s difficult to even challenge, let alone win a trophy.”

“It’s a very strange question to ask yourself. If Virgil shares that opinion, I agree with him.”

“The league is getting harder and harder. Every team has good players. Some teams that are fighting relegation still have players who are good enough to play for Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea.”
