This place is all sorts of things, one has to see it to form an opinion. The myriad of faces this city has can leave you either uplifted or in disbelief depending on the day. As I’d find it difficult to describe in words some of the most peculiar things here, it was great to find this recent article in The Times Online (‘The Maddest Hotel in Dubai‘) – it really brought a smile to my face, superbly written and very expressive in the most British way.

Atlantis opened to the public on September 24th. Completely over the top with nothing subtle about it, one still has to aplaud it for not doing in halves whatever it is it’s doing – it’s totally full on. And like an art exhibition compiled of different makers’ work, some of it makes you wonder why, yet some of it stands out and inspires.
