Long-stitch paper covered binding with copper onlays.

This binding of Paul Cezannes’s correspondence (Finnish translation) features the artist’s signature burnt on the front cover. The overall design is simple, with etched copper spine supports. The covers are double-layered recycled paper. This binding was Highly Commended in the Designer Bookbinders’ annual competition at The British Library in London in 1995, and was the spark for my affinity with the long-stitch binding structure.
