Miniature binding in full leather with thematic, conceptual design.

The book has been illustrated and produced by Alicia Bailey, Raven Press. It is bound in natural tan goat skin with gold tooling and red goat skin inlays on the covers. Doublures have tooling in red ink. The naked book is dressed in lace and raw silk. It also dons a heart-shaped silver locket. This kind of commission is one of the very rare ones where the whole interpretation of the theme and concept were left open for me to respond to, and to create fully personal, expressive art work without a time-scale. It does not suit everyone and it requires a lot of trust, but the world it opens up for me as an artist is quite special and unique. These types of books become very seminal works among my bindings and they tend to inform and influence my other pieces later on.
