Sculptural scroll.

This scroll stretches the notion of what is or could be considered a book. Featuring poems on small etched copper plates attached on its outer surface, this scroll is first and foremost sculptural. The materials and colours create a play of light that can be ‘read’ through the scroll rather than from it. This piece has sparked quite some debate and discussion as to what can be considered a book – is this a book or not, maybe a sculpture. Maybe it is different things to different people. For me as a book artist, it’s one of the results that have sprung forth from my creative exploration into bookness.
