The inspiration for my drawings comes from old medieval manuscripts and details in nature. When I use acrylic inks on paper, I work quite rapidly - which is a welcome opposite compared to making books. When drawing on deer parchment, I often accentuate details with gold powder and gold leaf, enjoying the tone and texture of the parchment, yet very often I end up cutting these drawings up and using them as material for book covers.
